PTE Score Report Analysis: How to Read Your Skills Profile｜PTE 成绩单分析

Many test takers check only their Overall Score and the four Communicative Skills scores: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. However, the online myPTE report also includes a Skills Profile. It is not a set of extra scores or a question-by-question breakdown. Used correctly, it helps you identify whether your main issue is open-ended production, reproducing language, extended or short responses, or comprehension.

很多考生拿到成绩后，只看 Overall 和 Listening、Reading、Speaking、Writing 四个分数。其实，myPTE 网页版成绩报告还包含一份 Skills Profile（技能表现档案）。它不是额外的小分，也不是逐题得分表；正确使用时，它能帮助你判断问题更可能出在开放表达、语言复现、长短回答，还是理解能力。

1. What is included in the current PTE Score Report?
现在的 PTE 成绩报告包含什么？

Overall Score｜总分

The Overall Score ranges from 10 to 90 and reflects performance across the whole test. It is not the simple average of the four Communicative Skills scores, so differences between the Overall Score and the four skill scores are normal.

Overall Score 范围为 10–90，反映整场考试的综合表现。它不是听、说、读、写四项分数的简单平均值，所以总分与四项技能分数之间存在差异是正常的。

Communicative Skills｜交际技能

Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing are each reported on a 10–90 scale. Integrated tasks can contribute to more than one skill. For example, a task that requires you to listen and then write may affect both Listening and Writing.

Listening、Reading、Speaking 和 Writing 四项分数均为 10–90。综合题可能同时影响多个技能。例如，先听后写的任务可能同时影响 Listening 和 Writing。

Skills Profile｜技能表现档案

The Skills Profile contains eight language-skill areas, performance bars and personalised recommendations. The bars indicate relative performance in each area. They are not official 10–90 scores and cannot be converted precisely into scores for individual question types. The Skills Profile is visible to the test taker and is not shared with institutions receiving the official result.

Skills Profile 包含八个语言技能领域、表现条和 personalised recommendations（个性化建议）。表现条反映你在相应领域的相对表现，不是 10–90 的正式分数，也不能精确换算成某个题型的分数。Skills Profile 供考生本人查看，不会随正式成绩发送给接收成绩的院校。

2. How to interpret the eight Skills Profile areas
八项 Skills Profile 怎么解读？

The task examples below are provided only to explain the skill areas. Pearson does not publish a fixed “performance bar to question score” conversion table. One area may reflect several tasks, and one task may involve several areas.

以下题型示例只用于帮助理解能力范围。Pearson 并未公布固定的“表现条—题型分数”换算表。一项表现可能由多个任务共同形成，同一个任务也可能涉及多项能力。

01 Open response speaking and writing
开放式口语与写作

This area looks at how well you select, organise and express ideas in your own words. Relevant examples may include Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Summarize Group Discussion, Respond to a Situation, Summarize Written Text, Write Essay and Summarize Spoken Text.

这一项关注你能否用自己的语言选取、组织并表达信息。相关示例可能包括 DI、RL、SGD、RTS、SWT、Write Essay 和 SST。

If this area is weak: check task fulfilment first, then content selection, structure, linking, vocabulary and grammar. A memorised template cannot replace relevant content.
如果这一项偏弱：先检查是否完成任务要求，再看内容取舍、结构、逻辑连接、词汇和语法。背诵模板不能替代有效内容。

02 Reproducing spoken and written language
复现口头与书面语言

This area looks at how accurately you retain and reproduce language you hear or see. Repeat Sentence, Read Aloud and Write from Dictation are useful examples for understanding this ability; summary tasks also require accurate retention of key information.

这一项关注你能否准确保留并复现听到或看到的语言。RS、RA 和 WFD 是理解这项能力的典型示例；总结类任务也要求准确保留核心信息。

If this area is weak: practise short-term memory, chunking, keyword capture, accurate pronunciation, spelling and grammatical word forms.
如果这一项偏弱：重点训练短时记忆、意群划分、关键词抓取、准确发音、拼写和语法词形。

03 Extended writing
长篇写作

This area looks at your ability to produce a longer, fully developed written response, including relevance, paragraph organisation, development, cohesion, grammar and vocabulary. Write Essay is the clearest task example.

这一项关注你能否完成较长、发展充分的书面回答，包括切题、段落组织、论证发展、衔接、语法和词汇。Write Essay 是最直观的题型示例。

If this area is weak: check whether you answer the whole question, give each paragraph a clear focus, develop claims with explanation or examples, and control errors that affect meaning.
如果这一项偏弱：检查是否完整回应题目、段落是否各有中心、论点是否得到解释或例证，以及语法错误是否影响理解。

04 Short writing
短篇写作

This area looks at accurate communication within a shorter or constrained response. You need to follow the word limit and format while preserving the essential meaning and maintaining clear sentence structure, spelling and punctuation.

这一项关注你能否在较短或格式受限的回答中准确表达信息。你需要遵守字数与格式要求，同时保留核心含义，并保证句子结构、拼写和标点清楚准确。

If this area is weak: practise compressing information, combining ideas, retaining the main message and proofreading efficiently.

05 Extended speaking
长篇口语

This area looks at how well you sustain and organise a longer spoken response while balancing content, structure, oral fluency and pronunciation. Describe Image, Retell Lecture and Summarize Group Discussion help illustrate this skill area.

这一项关注你能否持续、连贯地完成较长口头回答，并在内容、结构、口语流利度和发音之间保持平衡。DI、RL 和 SGD 可帮助理解这项能力。

If this area is weak: build a clear opening–main points–ending structure, then practise continuous delivery. Do not sacrifice content to force in a template or speak too quickly to hide pauses.
如果这一项偏弱：先建立清楚的开头—重点—结尾结构，再练连续输出。不要为了套模板牺牲内容，也不要用过快语速掩盖停顿。

06 Short speaking
短篇口语

This area looks at your ability to respond accurately and naturally within a short time. Tasks such as Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Answer Short Question and Respond to a Situation may involve quick comprehension, accurate reproduction, pronunciation and fluency.

这一项关注你能否在较短时间内准确、自然地完成口头任务。RA、RS、ASQ 和 RTS 等任务可能涉及快速理解、准确复现、发音和流利度。

If this area is weak: practise a stable pace, clear stress, accurate repetition and rapid understanding of the prompt. Review recordings for omissions, substitutions, long pauses and unclear endings.
如果这一项偏弱：练习稳定节奏、清晰重音、准确复述和快速抓题意。回听录音时检查漏词、替换词、长停顿和尾音。

07 Multiple-skills comprehension
多技能综合理解

This area looks at how well you integrate information across listening, reading, speaking and writing. In an integrated task, weakness may come from understanding the input or from producing the output accurately.

这一项关注你能否在听、读、说、写之间整合信息。综合题表现偏弱，原因可能来自输入理解，也可能来自输出不准确。

If this area is weak: break the process down: Did you understand the input? Identify the key information? Transform it correctly? Produce an accurate final response?
如果这一项偏弱：把流程拆开检查：是否听懂或读懂、是否抓到关键信息、是否正确完成信息转换、最后输出是否准确。

08 Single-skill comprehension
单技能理解

This area looks at comprehension in tasks that rely mainly on one input skill, including understanding the main idea, details, attitude, logical relationships and meaning from context. Some reading-only or listening-only tasks help illustrate this area.

这一项关注主要依赖单一输入技能的理解任务，包括主旨、细节、态度、逻辑关系和语境词义。部分纯阅读或纯听力任务可帮助理解这项能力。

If this area is weak: identify whether the problem is vocabulary, slow information location, weak understanding of logic, or attraction to distractors.
如果这一项偏弱：区分问题来自词汇不足、定位过慢、逻辑关系不清，还是容易被干扰选项带偏。

3. Four common mistakes when reading the Skills Profile
解读 Skills Profile 的四个常见误区

• Do not treat a performance bar as an official score. It is a diagnostic indicator, not an exact Pearson score.
  不要把表现条当成正式分数。它是诊断性指标，不是精确的 Pearson 分数。
• Do not use one bar to identify one question type. The eight areas are organised by language ability, not by task score.
  不要用一条表现条锁定一道题。八个领域按语言能力组织，不是题型成绩单。
• Do not compare bar length alone across two tests. Question mix and test-day performance can cause variation. Compare Overall and Communicative Skills scores first.
  不要只比较两次考试的条长。题目组合和临场表现会造成波动，应先比较总分与四项正式技能分数。
• Do not ignore the expanded recommendations. They are based on Global Scale of English learning objectives and are often more useful than the bar alone.

4. Turn your result into a study plan
把成绩转换成复习计划

1. Confirm the requirement｜确认要求：Check whether your visa, university or registration body requires an Overall Score, individual skill scores, or both.
   确认签证、学校或注册机构要求的是总分、单项，还是两者都要。
2. Measure the score gap｜计算分差：Compare your target with the four Communicative Skills scores and prioritise the largest formal score gap.
   用目标分对比四项正式技能分数，先处理最大缺口。
3. Read the Skills Profile｜查看技能档案：Identify the lowest two or three areas and expand the personalised recommendations.
   找出最低的两至三个领域，并展开阅读个性化建议。
4. Confirm with practice evidence｜用练习证据确认：Use recent mock results, speaking recordings, writing samples and an error log. Do not diagnose from the bars alone.
   结合近期模考、口语录音、作文和错题记录，不要只凭表现条猜题型。
5. Set measurable tasks｜设定量化任务：For example, review one RS/WFD set daily, complete two timed writing tasks each week, and keep recordings from each speaking session.
   例如每天完成并复盘一组 RS/WFD、每周两篇限时写作，并保留每次口语训练录音。

5. What changed after August 2025?
2025 年 8 月更新后要注意什么？

PTE Academic introduced updates from 7 August 2025, including Summarize Group Discussion (SGD) and Respond to a Situation (RTS), together with changes to some scoring processes. Pearson states that the Score Report format did not change: it still reports an Overall Score from 10 to 90 and individual scores for Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. Include the new tasks when reviewing your practice evidence, but do not attribute a whole Skills Profile area to one new or old task.

PTE Academic 自 2025 年 8 月 7 日起加入 Summarize Group Discussion（SGD）和 Respond to a Situation（RTS）等更新，并调整部分评分流程。Pearson 明确说明：成绩报告格式没有改变，仍报告 10–90 的 Overall，以及 Listening、Reading、Speaking、Writing 四项分数。复盘时应把新题型纳入练习证据，但不要把某一整条 Skills Profile 表现简单归因于一道新题或旧题。

Your official scores show how far you are from the target. The Skills Profile suggests where the underlying weakness may be. Your practice evidence confirms why you are losing marks. Use all three together to build a focused study plan rather than simply doing more questions.
